Guide to Fishing DFW

The information below is provided to us by Texas Parks and Wildlife. The U.S. Army Corp of Engineers provides more history and information on Lake Texoma. 

Lake Limits: Stripers 10 fish (only 2 of which can exceed 20"Large mouth, Small mouth,  and Spotted bass: catch and release only (my rule); 5 total, any combination, over 14" (their rules). Please be sure you have a valid current fishing license.

Fishing LIcenses: You can purchase your Texas Fishing License and Okalahome Fishing License online. Visist the Texas web site to find Texas Fishing License information.

A Red River impoundment on the Texas-Oklahoma border northwest of Sherman-Denison, west of US 75

Size: 89,000 acres
Maximum Depth: 100 feet
Date Impounded: 1944
Normal Water Clarity: Moderate to clear

Water Level Fluctuation:
5 to 8 feet annually

Conservation Pool Elevation:
619 ft. msl
Current Water Levels

Aquatic Vegetation:
Not abundant, but there are some stands of water willow, American lotus, floating heart, and bushy pondweed

Blue and channel catfish, white and striped bass, largemouth, spotted, and smallmouth bass, black and white crappie, and bluegill
